In the last ten years Steve Crombie has created adventures covering over 40 countries across the planet for Lonely Planet, Discovery Channel, Yamaha, Honda and various magazines/websites - and somehow squeezed out an MBA.

Before arriving at his dream job of being a full time explorer, he tried everything from circus performer to financial software analyst. At the age of 21, he realized that the only way for him to pursue his passion was to go out there and do it.

His adventures thus far have seen him starving and dehydrating in the Las Pampa Desert; waking up behind the iron bars of Tierra Del Fuego; traversing the length of the Amazon with a 260kg motorcycle in tow; evading pumas in Guyana; skimming across the Caribbean on a yacht with wanted criminals; dodging bullets in Nicaragua; sidestepping elephants in Himalayan foothills; battling with Dengue Fever in Sumba and paddling a few laps in the Arctic Ocean.

Today, Steve continues to spend his days conjuring up ways to sustain a life adventuring to other parts of the planet as a documentary filmmaker, author and keynote speaker.

His first book Lost On Earth was released in September 2010 by Pan Macmillan Australia, documenting a 90,000 kilometre adrenaline rush adventure from Australia to the Arctic Circle via South America. He also writes, produces and presents documentaries for Lonely Planet, Discovery Channel and the BBC. The most recent, 'Lonely Planets Natural Born Traveller' was nominated for an ASTRA award and recently won at the Asian TV Awards. In order to motivate others to live their dreams, Steve works as an ambassador for the Inspire Foundation - creating opportunities for young people to change their world.
